Palembang uses Asia/Jakarta with a fixed offset all year. Comparing it with a daylight-saving city is simpler once you know the other side’s seasonal change.

Prayer times here use the Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia method. For congregational prayer, follow a nearby mosque’s announcement.

00 — Overview

Time & prayer in Palembang

Local time in Palembang falls within the Asia/Jakarta zone. The clock and date at the top of this page update live to this timezone, so the readings stay accurate wherever you are.

Sitting at a latitude of about 3.0° in the southern hemisphere, Palembang's day length stays remarkably steady all year, with only small differences between summer and winter. That is why its sunrise, sunset and day-length figures change from month to month, and why prayer times here follow the position of the sun rather than a fixed clock.

The prayer times shown for Palembang are calculated using the Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia. The five daily prayers track the sun, so each one drifts a little earlier or later as the seasons turn. For the full picture you can open the monthly timetable, the live prayer clock, or the Qibla direction for Palembang from the tools on this site.
